Angel Kanchev University of Rousse completed the first year of the ambitious project "i-CARE Increasing the Conformance of Academia towards Rehabilitation Engineering" funded by Erasmus + of the European Union. Partners are four higher education institutions from Gaza in the Middle East and three others from the European Union. Project Coordinator is the Al Azar University in Gaza, represented by Dr. Ahmed Isa. The project has a budget of 914,469 and aims for three years to transfer knowledge and skills on rehabilitation technologies from established European academic institutions to universities and hospitals in the Gaza Strip. During the first year of the implementation of the activities, lecturers from the Department of Public Health and Social Activities of the Faculty of Public Health and Health Care acquainted their colleagues in Gaza with the good practices in the rehabilitation technologies and created prerequisites for starting a rehabilitation engineering training at partner universities in Gaza . In 2019 a group of teachers from Gaza in Rousse will be visiting. They will undergo an accelerated Kinesiology course, which will lead their colleagues from Rousse University.
