Rousseans have been trained in rehabilitation engineering in Gaza
Successfully completed the first year of the implementation of the i-CARE Increasing the Conformance of Academia towards Rehabilitation Engineering funded under the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
There are a total of 8 higher schools - partners - four from Gaza and four from the European Union, one of the European ones being the University of Rousse, BTA reports.
Within the first year of the implementation of the activities, lecturers from the Department of Public Health and Social Activities of the Faculty of Public Health and Health Care acquainted their colleagues in Gaza with the good practices in the rehabilitation technologies and created prerequisites for starting a rehabilitation engineering training at partner universities in Gaza.
The project has a budget of EUR 914,469.00 and aims within three years to transfer knowledge and skills on rehabilitation technologies from established European academic institutions to universities and hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
The next year is a visit of a group of teachers from Gaza to Rousse. They will undergo an accelerated Kinesiology course, which will lead their colleagues from Rousse University.
