How do I submit an abstract?

Visit the ICBAS web page  and submit an abstract thought the online service (SUBMIT ABSTRACT).

 

Who is eligible to submit an abstract?

Submitters range from postgraduate researchers to professionals.

 

What is the word limit?

Abstracts must be no longer than 500 words. Longer abstracts will not be reviewed and will be automatically rejected.

 

I have a coauthor. Whose name should be used as the primary author?

The conference participant who will be in attendance and presenting the abstract must submit the abstract under their name. If both authors will be in attendance, then either of them may submit the abstract. The author submitting the abstract must be the presenter at the conference. The submitter/ presenter author could be the first, the second or the third author in the authors' sequence list. 

 

How do I indicate my preferred method of presentation?

When you submit your abstract, please indicate your preferred method of presentation at the start of your 500-word extended abstract:

Oral Presentation Preferred

Poster Presentation Preferred

No Preference, no preference will also be assumed if you don't write your preference method.

 

 What are the selection criteria?

Abstract submitters should ensure that their abstracts provide sufficient detail so that reviewers will be able to fully evaluate the author's work, research design, data, analysis, and results.

 

The abstract will be reviewed according to the following criteria:

 

Research Design and Methodology: mention how the data was collected and analyzed.

Original Data and Results: What are the results, impact, and outcomes? This is the most important section of the abstract.

The abstract must describe the statistical analysis if used .

 

What type of abstracts should be submitted?

ICBAS welcome abstracts pertaining to all fields of basic and applied sciences. These filed are already mentioned in the ICBAS themes:

 

Basic and Applied Chemistry 

Biological Sciences

Medical and Paramedical sciences 

Pure and Applied Mathematics  

Theoretical and Experimental Physics 

Earth Sciences and Water Resources  

Environmental Sciences

 

 

How do I know that my abstract was successfully submitted through the website?

Immediately upon submission of your abstract you will receive an email notification confirming the process of your abstract which includes the title and the abstract reference number that will be used for future inquires.

 

Can I submit more than one abstract?

Each conference participant may submit more than one abstract for presentation at the ICBAS.

 

If my abstract is accepted for oral presentation, what are the next steps?

The abstract author will be notified that their abstract has been reviewed and accepted for oral presentation. The author will be required to submit a power point file containing her/ his oral presentation one week before the opening ceremony of the ICBAS on October 10th, 2010.

 

If accepted for poster presentation, what are the next steps?

The abstract author will be notified that their abstract has been reviewed and accepted for poster presentation. The author will be required to submit a well-printed poster containing her/ his presentation one week before the opening ceremony of the ICBAS on October 10th, 2010.
