Message of CRAFS Organizing Committee
Dear Colleagues, Researchers, Development Partners, and Friends
It is my pleasure to announce the First International Conference on the Rehabilitation of Agriculture and Food Systems, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at Al-Azhar University-Gaza.
For many years, our faculty has served the Palestinian community through education, scientific research, agricultural innovation, and engagement with farmers and industry partners. Today, however, Gaza's agricultural and academic sectors face unprecedented challenges. The recent war has caused extensive destruction to educational facilities, laboratories, research farms, agricultural fields, and veterinary infrastructure, severely affecting both scientific activities and food production systems.
In response, we are launching this conference as a platform for scientific dialogue, collaboration, and recovery. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, development agencies, and industry leaders to examine the impact of the conflict on agriculture and food security and to explore evidence-based strategies for rehabilitation and sustainable development.
We believe that science and innovation must play a central role in rebuilding resilient agricultural and food systems. Through research, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships, this conference aims to contribute to a stronger and more sustainable future for Palestine.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I warmly invite you to join us in this important endeavor and contribute your expertise to shaping the future of agriculture and food systems in Gaza.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mohammed Alhindy
Chairman of Organizing Committee
