Al-Azhar University- Gaza

Al-Azhar University- Gaza (AUG) is the hosting institute for the International Conference on Applied Sciences and Sustainability of Natural Resources.

AUG is an independent non-governmental Palestinian university established in 1991 in the Gaza city. AUG has been launched to be a non-conventional lighthouse in the course of higher education in Palestine. At present, the AUG is a campus for twelve different faculties introducing mainly undergraduate programs in addition to somegraduateprograms in selected fields. AUG is one of the leading higher education institutions in the area. The mission of the AUG is based on its vision and core values. The AUG role is not limited to teaching, research, and community services. The University is also an instrumental element in the development of all fields: health, cultural, social, economic, scientific and technologicalfields. The AUG realizes that the key to success is its ability to significantly-contribute to the development of the country. The AUG is committed to achieve its mission and goals by utilizing all available intellectual and physical resources.

The academic staff in AUG is around 470 members. About 16,000 students are involved in the different degree-programs at AUG with females constituting almost 50 % of the total students. For more details, please visit: AUG website
