AUG President

Greetings and welcome to Al Azhar University-Gaza (AUG)! It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the University official website!

I am profoundly honored to be part of AUG, one of the prestigious higher education institutions in Palestine. AUG received its charter from the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 1991 and was designated to be one of the promising universities dedicated to materializing the dreams of the Palestinian upcoming generations. Ever since it was established, the University has witnessed phenomenal growth fueled by a strong desire for knowledge, and arduous efforts to forge ahead on the pathway to achieve its sublime mission.

AUG is one of the leading comprehensive universities committed to the discovery and transmission of knowledge in a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs. It strives to achieve the highest potential of an environment of cutting -edge research, academic quality and strong sense of national identity. With vibrant campuses, compelling curricula, and practical field studies, AUG cultivates its students to be agents of knowledge to take part in the construction of their own state.

With over 25 years of history, AUG continues to preserve the dedicated spirit invested within it. The entire university has taken upon it to be a paragon of continuous development. In accordance with its vision, the university has started an integrated plan in order to develop each of the university facilities and strengthen its relationship with the community. Today we stand proud of what we have built together; the new campus in Al-Mugraqa is the first phase of the development. Taking pride in our history's values, we strive for the development of cutting edge knowledge which can deeply and profoundly respond to a wide variety of needs demanded by our Palestinian society.
