AUG President Met Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan during his Participation in TACHE Conference




May 4, 2016 – Prof.Dr. Abdel Khaliq Al Farra, AUG President,  met with His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan President of Turkey and Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmus, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey during his participation in the Second Turkish Arab Congress on Higher Education (TACHE). Prof.Dr. Al Farra, on behalf of the Palestinian People, thanked Turkey for its unwavering support for the Palestinians and their just cause. He also provided them with an introduction about AUG, its strategic plans and future development and construction projects.

Porf. Dr. Al Farra represented AUG, a member of the Association of Arab Universities, in TACHE which held in Istanbul between 26-30 April 2016. The conference brought together for the leaders of Turkish and Arab universities in order to promote a sustainable process of dialogue, mutual understanding, exchange of knowledge and increased cooperation between Turkey and Arab world.

On the sidelines of the conference, Prof.Dr. Al Farra met with Prof. M. Ihsan Karaman, TACHE President and President of Istanbul Medeniyet University. They both discussed the fruitful means of cooperation and signed a joint scientific cooperation agreement between the two universities.

It's worth mentioning that this strategic visit is very significant in the future of the Turkish-Palestinian academic relations , aiming at consolidating joint  relations with Arab and Western universities towards bringing support to the development projects of the university in the field of scientific research and academic exchange.
