Graduation Ceremonies of 21st cohort of students Commenced




Aug 11, 2016 – Under the patronage of His Highness President Mahmoud Abbas, Al Azhar University – Gaza commenced its graduation ceremonies in Al Katiba campus.

The three-day ceremonies celebrated the graduation of the 21st cohort of students. The first day was devoted to celebrate graduates of postgraduate faculty, scientific faculties, and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, while the literary faculties' ceremony was held in the second day. The third day celebrated the graduates of College of Intermediate Studies.

  The celebrations were attended by Dr. Abdulrahman Hamad, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the members of the Board, Prof. Dr. Abdul Khaliq El Farra, President of AUG, Prof. Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali An Najar, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, University Council and staff members, members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Palestinian leaders, staff of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, universities' presidents, representatives of civil society institutions and international organizations, and the graduates' families.

Speaking exclusively to AUG through videoconference, His Highness President Abbas applauded the graduates for their distinctive success. His Highness said, "The Palestinian leadership closely follows up AUG's strides toward success. I wish I was with you today to witness this outstanding celebration." He went on to emphasize the importance of restoring the national unity, unifying Palestinian ranks, and ending the division.  

Dr. Hamad expressed his pride that these celebrations coincided with the 25th anniversary of establishing AUG, when the late President leader established AUG in 1991.

                In his remarks, Prof. Dr. El Farra stressed," the university has embodied over twenty-five years a true image of national cohesiveness, academic excellence, and strategic development. "

At the end of the ceremonies, graduates were handed their certificates after they professed their commitment to the graduates’ oath, amid an atmosphere of genuine delight
