May 18, 2017 – A high- level delegation from the Palestinian Fund for Employment and Social Protection of Workers (PFESP) visited AUG. The delegation consisted of Ms. Ibtisam Husary, Executive Director; Mr. Muneer Shalaheh, Programs & Projects Development & Coordination Manager; Mr. Imad Hussein, Projects Bank , Studies and OSS Manager; and Mr. Mohammed Abuzaiter, Director of PFESP in Gaza.
 

Prof. Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dr. Usama Zaineldeen, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ali Abu Zaid, Dean of Planning and Quality Assurance; and Dr. Mazen Hamada, President of the Board- University Presidency welcomed the delegates.

 

At the beginning, Prof. Dr. Muslih welcomed the visiting delegates, briefing on AUG during the last 25 years. He pointed the deteriorating economic conditions in the Gazan community and its impact on higher education institutions.

 

 For her part, Ms. Husary highlighted the recent projects to employ youth in cooperation with UNDP/PAPP and to support micro and small entrepreneurship’s initiatives in cooperation with Italian Cooperation.

 

Dr. Abu Zaid talked about the international projects implemented in AUG to develop curricula and enhance the capacities of the academic staff members. 
 

The visit aimed to strengthen the cooperative means to support graduates and develop academic programs.
