Graduation Ceremonies Of 23rd Cohort of Students Commenced




October 12, 2018 - Under the Patronage of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, AUG commenced its graduation ceremonies in Al Katiba campus.

The three-day ceremonies celebrated the graduation of the 23rd cohort of students. The first day was devoted to celebrating graduates of scientific faculties, and the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, while the literary faculties' ceremony was held in the second day. The third day celebrated the graduates of College of Intermediate Studies.

The celebrations were attended by Prof. Ibrahim Ibrach, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the members of the Board, Prof. Hani Nejm, President of AUG, Prof. Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marwan Al Agha, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, University Council and staff members, members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Palestinian leaders, staff of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, universities' presidents, representatives of civil society institutions and international organizations, and the graduates' families.

Mr. Ahmad Helis delivered an exclusive speech on behalf of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, in which he began by conveying the greetings and blessings of the President to graduates and expressing his pride in this promising generation, which is carrying the secretariat of national responsibility, armed with knowledge and will. The President emphasized the role of Palestinian universities in providing the community with various competencies and expertise, stressing the importance of scientific research, creativity and innovation. He went on to emphasize the importance of restoring the national unity, unifying Palestinian ranks, and ending the division. 

During his speech, Prof. Ibrahim Ibrach extended his greetings and best wishes to the graduates and their families. He called on them to continue to seek knowledge, and to be the best ambassadors of the university. Prof. Ibrach stressed that despite the difficult circumstances, the university succeeded in establishing the new headquarters in Al-Mughraqa. He also highlighted that the university has embodied a true image of national cohesiveness, academic excellence, and strategic development.

After greeting and congratulating the graduates and their families, In his remarks, Prof. Hani Nejm stressed, “AUG continues to play a vital role in shaping the Palestinian dream and preparing a generation that can cope with the approach of civilization and human development.” He also highlighted that despite the challenges facing the educational process, the university continued to develop new academic programs in various fields, in addition to building the capacities and research capabilities of faculty members.
The President of the University concluded with expressing his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the Preparatory Committee in organizing this celebration.

At the end of the ceremonies, graduates were handed their certificates after they professed their commitment to the graduates’ oath, amid an atmosphere of genuine delight
